This extraordinary trip takes you to some of the most stunning and exotic biking routes in Nepal. Annapurna Circuit mountain biking tour passes through a variety of different landscapes, lush tropical rain-forests, and deep valleys, terraced fields to wooded alpine and high deserts. Visit many mountain communities enjoying frequent spectacular views of massive Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna and Manaslu. Reach the lowland villages, dense oak and rhododendron forests, deep gorges, and lovely hamlets to the lap of the mighty high mountains. Along the trail, you will be crossing the highest pass of Nepal-Thorang La at 5416 m surrounded by some of the most magnificent mountain sceneries in the world.
As demanding the rugged terrain and technical tracks are, this trip is designed for the experienced riders. It will be grueling but surely worth every drop of sweat.

Schedule Details

DAY 01 : NAMASTE IN KATHMANDU 1300M

Be welcomed and assisted by our representative at the airport. A short drive takes you to your hotel where you can rest or take a short walk to see the surroundings.
If you arrive early, make a visit to Asan, the central market of Kathmandu and Garden of Dreams in central Kathmandu.
In the evening, enjoy the relish welcome dinner at Thakali restaurants with some cultural music and dance.

DAY 02 : SIGHTSEEING IN KATHMANDU

Kathmandu Sightseeing: Breakfast at hotel, Full day Sightseeing (visit: Boudhanath Stupa Kopan monastery & Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square.) Explore the ancient arts and crafts of Nepal.

DAY 03 : PRE BIKING MEETING AND DRIVE TO BESISAHAR 760M

In the morning, after breakfast, we host a pre-biking meeting at our office and introduce you to our biking guides.
After completing all the formalities and procedures, you will hit the road to Besisahar which takes around 6 hours’ drive (200km) west of Kathmandu. The journey takes you along the bank of Trishuli River in the first half and Marsyangdi River in the second half along with picturesque terrace farms, villages and sub-tropical forests. On the way, catch the scenery of mountains Ganesh and Manaslu.

DAY 04 : DRIVE TO CHAME 2670M

The road to Chame is one of the most challenging roads in Nepal which takes you through mist shrouded villages, swaying suspension bridges, stunning waterfalls, pine and oak forests and bumpy off road throughout the journey.
The village of Chame is the district headquarters of the Manang district at an altitude of 2650m where you will find few restaurants, tea houses, banks, shops and natural hot springs nearby.

DAY 05: RIDE FROM CHAME TO UPPER MANANG 3540M

Ascend through the pine forests as the trail opens into a fertile agricultural valley. The dirt trail leads you through villages and settlements and you get the opportunity to meet with friendly locals and snotty children. From Pisang (3130m), the route follows through a wide valley that opens up ahead of us.

DAY 06: ACCLIMATIZATION IN MANANG

Spend a day here to acclimatize by doing some high climbing, and then return to the lower altitude of Manang for the night. Manang, a village of about 500 flat-roofed houses, offers excellent views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Chulu East.
Ice Lake (4600m) is around 4 to 5 hours uphill from the village of Braka, 30 minutes from Manang. Generally travelers choose this hike on the day of acclimatization which offers a panoramic view of the mountains. The trail is full of alpine bushes and yak pastures. Alternatively you can take a route to a cave near the village of Braka as well.

DAY 07: RIDE TO THORUNG PHEDI 4450M

Leave the town of Manang and start your ride towards Yak Kharka (4010m). Pedaling the bike could be relatively difficult due to higher elevation. Along the trail, you will enjoy the serene beauty and culture of the region.

DAY 08: THORONG LA PASS 5416M

Today begins at sunrise as this is the longest and hardest day of the adventure! Start off with a four-hour uphill to the top of the Thorung La at 17,717 feet (5400 m)—Annapurna Circuit's highest point—where you'll be rewarded with spectacular views over Mustang and Kaligandaki valleys, and the surrounding peaks. We will have time for photos as the summit opens up to reveal a sweeping panorama of snow-capped mountains extending towards Tibet. The descent is almost as demanding as the ascent, so when you get to the bottom at Chabarbu, there is a teahouse where you can relax with a cup of tea and a snack.
Continue on a long, grassy slope through a series of switchbacks towards the lower Mustang and head back to the serene village of Muktinath. This important pilgrimage site for Buddhists and Hindus is surrounded by rugged mountains with unparalleled views of Dhaulagiri—the world’s 7th highest peak.

DAY 09: RIDE TO TUKUCHE 2590M

Exit the pilgrimage town of Muktinath and ride towards Dhangladanda (viewpoint) through a less frequented route. From the viewpoint on the way, ride through the impressive single track all the way down to the river bed in Lupra Valley. Finally you reach Jomsom, the Thakali Capital of the region and grab a relish lunch. Gradually cycling down the valley, you will reach Tukuche and stay overnight.

DAY 10: TUKUCHE TO TATOPANI 1190M

You start with an easy ride to the beautiful waterfall, Rupse Waterfall. From the waterfall, the trail is a downhill ride to Tatopani along the rugged terrain and coniferous forest. Finally you will reach Tatopani, known for its natural hot springs.

DAY 11: RIDE TO BENI AND JEEP RIDE TO POKHARA

Today you will ride along the riverbeds of Kaligandaki River to Beni, the capital of Myagdi River. Along the way, you pass through beautiful Magar and Thakali communities. On reaching Beni, you will be transferred to your hotel in Pokhara. Pokhara is the adventure capital of Nepal.

DAY 12: FREE DAY IN POKHARA

Enjoy a free day in Pokhara to unwind, relax, and give those muscles a rest after all that trekking. Your leader can advise you of sightseeing opportunities. It is worth taking a boat for a row out on the lake, especially if the weather's fine. The lakeside area has great shopping and cafes. Pokhara has an interesting old area as well as an elaborate Hindu temple and a Buddhist monastery. Perhaps visit the Peace Pagoda, where spectacular views of the mountains await. You can see the Annapurna from here, and the famous fishtail peak, Machhapuchre, and back across to Pokhara. You can also visit the fascinating International Mountain Museum to learn some amazing tales of past climbing expeditions.

DAY 13: FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU

After breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the domestic airport in Pokhara for your flight back to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu, you will have sightseeing activities in the UNESCO site in Patan. Patan is full of ancient arts and architecture which is situated in Lalitpur district of Kathmandu valley. The square is a UNESCO site with pagoda and Shikhar style monuments. The carvings are so fine and perfect from every angle.
Later you will have free time to explore on your own.

DAY 14: FINAL DEPARTURES
