Overview

Mardi Himal Trek, in Annapurna Region is one of the most thrilling routes that take you near the sacred mountain of Nepal, Machhapuchhre (6993m m). This trek has been open to the public less than a decade, which makes it ideal for those who want to avoid the most crowded routes.
Besides the panoramic views it offers, it allows the traveler to enjoy the spectacular rhododendron forests.

Schedule Details

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU 1300M
  • Flying to Kathmandu is in itself an exciting and memorable experience. On a clear day, you will get a panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains.
  • After completing the visa formalities, collect your luggage downstairs. As you exit the terminal, you will be welcomed by our representatives. From the airport, you will be transferred to your booked hotel in Kathmandu. On reaching, you can either relax in your room or go for a walk exploring the streets.
  • In the evening, we host a welcome dinner with cultural entertainments.

DAY 02: PREPARATION DAY IN KATHMANDU
  • The managing Director of our company will meet you at the hotel and provide more information about the adventure. Your dues must be cleared before commencing the trip.
  • Later in the afternoon, you are free to roam around the city. We will finalize all the paperwork and make a final check of the equipment. In case you have missed any, you can buy them in the market.
  • While we take care of your paperwork, you will have time to explore the city at your own pace. In case you are interested in guided sightseeing in heritage sites, we are pleased to offer the service.

DAY 03: DRIVE TO POKHARA 850M
  • After breakfast, you take the road to the 2nd biggest tourist city of Nepal, Pokhara. It has become a very important city since the start of trekking in Nepal. The area is situated in a subtropical valley and constitutes lakes and hardcore adventures. The very popular Phewa Lake is also quite close to your hotel. You can walk by foot or rent a cycle and discover the lake side on reaching.
  • The best option to explore Lakeside is to hire a cycle and go cycling. Pame is a popular destination for cyclists which is only 30 minutes from Lakeside. Get a panoramic view of the Annapurna range from Pame and Lakeside.

DAY 04: DRIVE TO KANDE (1770 M) AND TREK TO DEURALI (2125M)
  • After breakfast, our team along with the private vehicle will pick you up at the hotel. You will be transferred for almost an hour to reach Kande. From Kande, the trekking route begins to Deurali, the first place where you will spend the night. On the middle of the walk you will pass through the Australian Camp (2200 m) where you will be delighted with views of Machhapuchhre, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri Mountains.
  • From Kande the route will take from 3 to 4 hours to reach the destination through the rhododendron forest that dominates the Modi Khola.
    A cup of coffee after a day trek with the panoramic view of the Annapurna range and Machhapuchre from the balcony of your lodge is more satisfying.

DAY 05: TREK TO LOW CAMP (3150 M)
  • From Pitam Deurali, it is a steady ascent through hamlets of pine and juniper to Forest Camp. The views of mountains are obstructed in this portion as you walk along the vast forest. However you can spot some yaks, sheep and goats grazing with other unique flora and fauna. On crossing the jungle, we reach Forest camp. Forest camp has a sparse scattering of basic lodges and is very peaceful and isolated. The trail passes through the dense Himalayan subtropical forest in most of the section. From forest camp, a steady climb along the ridge takes you to Low camp.
  • Upon reaching, our trek guide will take you for a short walk around the village at low camp. Explore the area which is full of beautiful landscape.

DAY 06: TREK TO HIGH CAMP (3500 M)
  • Walk along the ridge of the alpine hills and yak pastures. Enjoy lunch at Badal Danda with the view of mountains and alpine environment. Trek again until you reach high camp. You will have the giant Mt. Machhapuchhre and Annapurna in front of you. Also, you can spot so many yaks grazing all along the trail.
  • Upon reaching, explore the place of High camp full of pastures and glaciers. Catch the evening sunset from high camp that is stunning. Hike to the mountains nearby.

DAY 07: TREK TO MARDI BASE CAMP (4500 M) AND BACK TO LOW CAMP (3150 M)
  • Starting from early morning, we finally headed towards our main destination. It takes about 3 TO 4 hours to reach the base camp of Mardi Himal via Upper View Point (4200 m). The Mardi view point at 4200m is the best spot to get 360 views of the mountains. From the viewpoint, sunrise is best at dawn.
  • In the base camp, we will enjoy the splendid nature. We will spend some time there exploring the bright Himalayas and snowy landscapes.
  • Later, it will be time to descend back to Low Camp for the night.

DAY 08: TREK TO SIDING (1700 M) AND DRIVE TO POKHARA 850M
  • On the way back, we take a different route to complete the circuit. From Low Camp, there is a path that goes down to Siding, a traditional town in Nepal and still far from the busiest modern tourist walks.
  • In Siding, the Jeep will be waiting for you, to bring you back to Pokhara, where we can rest and celebrate the adventure.

DAY 09: FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU
  • After breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the domestic airport in Pokhara for your flight back to Kathmandu.
    On reaching Kathmandu, you will have sightseeing activities in the UNESCO sites.
  • A short drive from the hotel takes you to Basantapur, known as Kathmandu Durbar Square. Explore the arts and architecture of ancient Nepal that are finely crafted in the monuments. Visit the Kumari house and learn about the living Goddess, “Kumari.”
  • Later you will be taken to Swayambhunath, also known as monkey temple. It is another UNESCO site in Kathmandu valley. There are seven in total. Swayambhunath is a Buddhist temple situated on a hilltop inside the Kathmandu valley. The temple is full of monkeys, monasteries, statues, visitors and some restaurants which give a 360 view of the Kathmandu valley.

DAY 10: FINAL DEPARTURE
