From spectacular mountain flight to cultural, spiritual and wildlife activities in different places including mountains and lowlands, this is definitely a traveler’s choice! Anyone regardless of their age and physical abilities can successfully complete this trip.

During the Best of Nepal Tour, we visit to different places starting from Kathmandu followed by Chitwan and Pokhara with extra activities like mountain flight and visit to Nagarkot and Dhulikhel near Kathmandu.

This tour can be done in any seasons except rainy season (Jun-Aug), thus has been one of the best-selling tours of ours.

Schedule Details

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Once you land in Kathmandu, our representatives will be there waiting for you to meet and greet. Later, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can rest and freshen up. In the afternoon, you will meet your tour leader and other members of Green Getaways. Here, you will have the opportunity to ask for any last minute questions regarding your holiday and itinerary.  

In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner in a cultural restaurant where you can witness cultural music and dance of Nepal. Here, you will meet your tour leader and tune up for your upcoming days in Nepal.

DAY 02: Mountain Flight and Sightseeing

After breakfast, your tour leader will meet you at your hotel and together you will drive to the airport for your mountain flight! The flight takes around an hour where you will have the opportunity to see tallest mountains on Earth including the Mt. Everest. 

After the mountain flight, you will get couple of free hours for your lunch and getting ready for the half-day sightseeing in the afternoon. Today, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath, which are the UNESCO heritage sites in Kathmandu. 

The sightseeing is the perfect opportunity for you to explore Nepal culturally and getting to know traditional arts and architecture. In the evening, you will be dropped to your hotel where you can rest and/or explore and on your own.

Day 03: Sightseeing in Boudhanath and Fly to Lumbini

Today in the morning you will have a sightseeing in Boudhanath, which is another UNESCO heritage site in Kathmandu. Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in Nepal. It's a sacred Buddhist site and a significant cultural hub adorned with colorful prayer flags and surrounded by monasteries, attracting both locals and international visitors seeking spiritual solace. 

Later in the afternoon, you will have a domestic flight to Lumbini. Lumbini lies in the southern plains of Nepal and is another UNESCO heritage sites in Nepal. It is also the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, thus has immense cultural and spiritual significance. 

The atmosphere around Lumbini is serene and tranquil, with a rural ambience dominated by agricultural fields, small villages and lush greenery. You can experience the simplicity of rural Nepalese life while enjoying natural beauty and surrounding landscapes.

Day 04: Sightseeing in Lumbini

Today you will have full day sightseeing with a local guide in Lumbini. We will hire a rickshaw for traveling from one temple and monastery to another. 

Lumbini extends in an area of around 3 sq. /km. There are numerous monasteries and temples made in different shapes and styles by different Buddhist nations all over the world. A canal flows from north of the square to the south with temples and monasteries spreading out in either sides. 

Once the sightseeing in completed, you can also hire a local rickshaw to explore the surrounding places on your own.

Day 05: Drive to Chitwan National Park

Early in the morning, we will start our drive to Chitwan National Park which takes around 4 hours. The drive takes you through the southern plains of Nepal crossing small settlements, vast jungles and few hilltops. 

Upon arrival at Chitwan National Park, there will be allocated time for relaxation and personal rejuvenation. Later in the evening, an engaging Tharu cultural show is scheduled, offering an immersive experience into the indigenous Tharu community's vibrant traditions and performances.

DAY 06: Exploring Chitwan National Park

Enjoy one more day filled with wildlife excitement! There are numerous activities scheduled for you today. You will Start your day with a visit to elephant breeding center followed by canoeing in Rapti river. During the canoeing you will have the opportunity to witness rare and endangered species of crocodiles and birds.

Later in the afternoon, you will have a jeep safari which takes you to the core of the national park allowing you to see different species of wild and endangered animals like elephants, one-horned rhino, deer, antelopes, gharials, etc. If you are lucky, you might even spot a tiger! 

In the evening, you will have time to explore the place on your own.

Day 07: Drive to Pokhara

Today you bid farewell to the locals from Chitwan National Park and take a ride to Pokhara. It takes around 4 hours to reach Pokhara crossing many hills, valleys, rivers, jungles and small settlements. 

Upon reaching Pokhara, you will have time to explore the place and streets nearby. You will have an hour boating in Phewa Lake and visit the Taal Barahi temple situated in the middle of the lake.

Later, you will have time to explore the places on your own. Fishing, boating, cycling and sightseeing are popular activities to do in less time.

Day 08: Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today after breakfast, you will have guided sightseeing in and around Pokhara Valley. In the morning, we will visit the International Mountain Museum, which is one of the most popular landmarks in Pokhara. The museum is a tribute to the Himalayas and mountaineering, showcasing exhibits on mountain culture, history, and world's highest peaks. It offers a comprehensive insights into the lives of mountain communities and challenges faced by mountaineers, serving as an educational and inspirational hub for visitors. 

Later, you will visit World Peace Stupa, situated at the hilltop just above Phewa Lake. The stupa is a perfect point offering you with majestic views of the Annapurna range, Pokhara valley and Phewa lake below. 

Later in the evening, you will have free time to explore the place on your own.

Day 09: Fly to Kathmandu and drive to Nagarkot.

Today you will take the flight back to Kathmandu in the morning. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will take an hour drive to Nagarkot, a popular hill station in outskirts of Kathmandu valley. Nagarkot offers you with the best view of sunrise, sunset and mountains.

Day 10: Hike to Dhulikhel

After a morning breakfast and sunrise view, you will start your hike to Dhulikhel, another hill station in outskirts of Kathmandu. The hike is relatively easier letting you to witness village life, mountains, valleys and small forests along the way. It takes around five hours to reach Dhulikhel, where you can rest and freshen up.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu and Free Day

Today you will take the drive back to Kathmandu in the morning. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you have free time to stroll in the streets for some last minute shopping.

In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner hosted by Green Getaways to celebrate the successful completion of your holiday in Nepal.

Day 12: Final Departure

Your holiday in Nepal has came to an end today! Although, it might be difficult to say goodbye to this beautiful country, note that you have done something truly special while visiting this unique place. Our representatives will transfer you to the Kathmandu airport for your flight back home three hours prior your scheduled time to ensure smooth departure. 

As you fly back home, take some time to reflect on this unforgettable journey and plan another trip in the future.

What is the best time to do Best of Nepal tour?
