Discover Annapurna Trek, a captivating expedition that seamlessly blends nature, culture, and adventure, is a 12 days journey in Nepal. As you traverse the scenic trails, you will find yourself venturing into numerous Gurung villages, each a vibrant hub of traditions and hospitality. The Gurung people, renowned for their warm hospitality, will welcome you into their homes, providing a firsthand experience of their unique way of life. The trek features an unforgettable cultural show in one of these villages, where you will witness traditional dances, music, and rituals that have been passed through generations.

Your cultural exploration extends beyond the Gurung villages as you delve into the heart of Kathmandu and Pokhara, two cities pulsating with history and charm. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is a melting pot of ancient temples, bustling markets, and vibrant street life. Meanwhile, Pokhara, nestled beside the serene Phewa Lake, captivates with its stunning views of the Annapurna range and offers a tranquil escape.

Bandipur, another gem on this journey, beckons with its rich Newari culture. This picturesque town, perched on a hilltop, boasts cobbled streets, traditional architecture, and a serene ambience. Wander through Bandipur’s narrow alleys, soaking in the cultural heritage and savoring the flavors of Newari cuisine.

Nature enthusiasts will revel in the diverse landscape encountered during the trek, from lush forests and terraces fields to panoramic mountain vistas. The Annapurna region, with its towering peaks and pristine valleys, provides a breathtaking backdrop of your adventure.

Schedule Details

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Once you land in Kathmandu, our representatives will be there waiting for you to meet and greet. Later, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can rest and freshen up. In the afternoon, you will meet your tour leader and other members of Green Getaways. Here, you will have the opportunity to ask for any last minute questions regarding your holiday and itinerary.  

In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner in a cultural restaurant where you can witness cultural music and dance of Nepal. Here, you will meet your tour leader and tune up for your upcoming days in Nepal.

Day 02: Fly to Pokhara, Drive to Dhampus 1650m/5413ft.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the domestic airport for a 25 minute flight to Pokhara, situated 200 km west of Kathmandu. Pokhara is the second biggest city in Nepal and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks.

From the Pokhara airport, you will drive for an hour to Dhampus village in the outskirts of Pokhara valley. The village is mostly inhabited by the people from Gurung ethnicity. The road to Dhampus offers a stunning view of the Annapurna range.

Finally, you will reach your lodge where you can rest and freshen up. In the evening, you can stroll around the village and get closer insights into the village.

Driving Duration: 1 hour 

Day 03: Trek to Ghandruk 2012m/6601ft.

After having a breakfast at the lodge, you'll be all set for a day trek towards Ghandruk. Along the trail, you'll be offered with stunning views of the mountains and rhododendron forests. You'll also come across a few waterfalls, adding to the scenic beauty. Passing through terraces and forests, you'll finally arrive at Ghandruk, a significant settlement of the Gurung community in Nepal.

Upon reaching Ghandruk, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Gurung museum, which is just a short walk away from your lodge. Here, you can explore and learn about the Gurung culture, their life, cuisines, arts, architecture, traditional tools, ornaments, and handicrafts. Our local guide will provide detailed explanations, and it's a great chance to take some pictures as keepsakes! 

Later in the evening, a cultural show is organized to welcome you. This hour-long program features local dances and songs performed by the community, offering you a delightful experience of Gurung culture and entertainment.

Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours  

Day 04: Trek to Landruk 1565m/5134ft.

As you depart from the picturesque Ghandruk village, the trek leads downwards towards the bank of the Modi River. Upon crossing a suspension bridge, the journey ascends towards the Landruk village, offering splendid views of the Annapurna range along the way. 

Landruk is situated opposite of Ghandruk and shares similar cultural aspects and inhabitants. Upon arrival, take the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas with your trekking guide.

Exploring Landruk involves a guided walk around the village led by our trek guide. The locals are known for their warm hospitality, eagerly sharing insights about their community and the area. The short excursion offers a chance to learn more about the people and their way of life in Landruk.

Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours  

Day 05: Trek to Majgaon 1408m/4620ft.

Your trek today begins by walking through the villages and farmlands, with the majestic Annapurna range framing your journey. The captivating scenery provides a serene atmosphere and crisp mountain air, offering a refreshing experience in the mountains. Along the trail, you'll pass through beautiful villages that seem to gave retained their unchanged beauty for centuries. 

Later in the afternoon, you'll have the option to relax in the lodge or embark on a short village walk accompanied by your guide.

Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours  

Day 06: Trek to Kande, Drive to Pokhara

Today you will begin your journey with a descent from Majgaon, hiking through hills and enchanting rhododendron forests for about two to three hours. The trail leads you to the village of Chandrakot, offering panoramic views of the valley and the surrounding mountains throughout the trek. From Chandrakot, you'll proceed to Lumle, from where one-hour drive takes you back to Pokhara.

Upon reaching in Pokhara, you'll have some leisure time to explore the city and its nearby streets. One of the highlights includes an hour-long journey boating excursion on Phewa Lake. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Taal Barahi temple situated at the lake's center, offering c chance to seek blessing and experience the serene ambience of this sacred place.

Day 07: Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today after breakfast, you will have guided sightseeing in and around Pokhara Valley. In the morning, we will visit the International Mountain Museum, which is one of the most popular landmarks in Pokhara. The museum is a tribute to the Himalayas and mountaineering, showcasing exhibits on mountain culture, history, and world's highest peaks. It offers a comprehensive insights into the lives of mountain communities and challenges faced by mountaineers, serving as an educational and inspirational hub for visitors. 

Later, you will visit World Peace Stupa, situated at the hilltop just above Phewa Lake. The stupa is a perfect point offering you with majestic views of the Annapurna range, Pokhara valley and Phewa lake below. 

Later in the evening, you will have free time to explore the place on your own.

Day 08: Drive to Bandipur

Today after lunch you will drive to Bandipur along the Prithvi Highway. 

From Dumre, a small town on the highway, our journey takes us to the charming hill-station of Bandipur, once a bustling trading hub, now developmed into a popular touristic town. Bandipur offers breathtaking views of the sunset, sunrise and mountains. As we explore its cobbled streets, the town's unique blend of tradition and modernity unfolds, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of this picturesque hilltop retreat.

Driving Duration: 3 hours 

Day 09: Explore Bandipur

Today after breakfast, you will walk towards the Siddha Cave. It takes around an hour to reach the cave from your resort. The cave is the biggest cave in Asia with its unique features. Walk carefully inside the cave with the help of a local guide. Explore the interior of the cave. Later you will hike to your resort and in the evening, you will explore the streets of Bandipur at your own pace.

Highlight of the Day: Explore Siddha Cave and Bandipur

Day 10: Visit Siddha cave, Drive to Kathmandu

Today after breakfast, you will descend for 30 minutes from your homestay and reach the Siddha cave. Siddha cave is the largest cave in Asia. Your guide will instruct on having the best experience exploring the cave. Later, you will descend down for 30 minutes to a place called Bimal Nager where you will be received by our representatives. From Bimal Nagar, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the nightlife in Kathmandu.

In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner hosted by Green Getaways to celebrate the successful completion of your holiday in Nepal.

Day 11: UNESCO Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today after the morning breakfast, you will have a full-day sightseeing with a cultural guide. You will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath, which are the UNESCO heritage sites in Kathmandu. 

The sightseeing is the perfect opportunity for you to explore Nepal culturally and getting to know traditional arts and architecture. In the evening, you will be dropped to your hotel where you can rest and/or explore and on your own. 

In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner hosted by Green Getaways to celebrate the successful completion of your holiday in Nepal.

Day 12: Final Departure

Your holiday in Nepal has came to an end today! Although, it might be difficult to say goodbye to this beautiful country, note that you have done something truly special while visiting this unique place. Our representatives will transfer you to the Kathmandu airport for your flight back home three hours prior your scheduled time to ensure smooth departure. 

As you fly back home, take some time to reflect on this unforgettable journey and plan another trip in the future.
